While we use a needle to inject the dermal filler, most clients find the procedure very tolerable. We use a topical freezing spray to minimize the discomfort from the injections.
How long will my results last?
Bellafill has an FDA clearance for 5 years, but we have seen results last well beyond one decade and consider this to be a nearly permanent dermal filler that can be built upon as the aging process continues.
Is there any downtime or side effects associated with dermal fillers?
Post-treatment you may experience minor swelling in the treated area. This usually resolves itself in 1 to 3 days. As with any injection, there is the possibility of bruising which can last anywhere from 1 to 7 days. It takes up to 2 weeks for dermal fillers to incorporate into the skin tissue completely.
What is the difference between an HA filler like Restylane, Versan or Juvéderm and a collagen stimulating filler like Bellafill?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that gradually breaks down over a period of approximately one year or sooner. Injections of HA fillers yield a fairly immediate result. In the case of Bellafill, the PMMA particles in the product remain permanently and any dissipation of the results is because of your body’s natural decline in collagen production as you age. Results from Bellafill develop over time and will continue to improve up to 6 or more months following injection.
How will I know if Bellafill is the right choice for me?
