7 Rituals That Healthy People Do Every Day for Perfect Skin

By Amy Candrl

Here at The Lifestyle Center, we don’t just strive to give you the most youthful, natural-looking skin – we also value your overall health! That’s why we have put together a list of 7 habits that healthy people do every day not just for perfect skin but also for better overall health. Read about them below!

Do Some Stretching – Stretching is beneficial to your body in so many ways. It promotes weight loss, reduces blood pressure, helps decrease inflammation, and wards off injury. First thing in the morning, take about 7 minutes to do some stretching exercises or yoga. It will help wake up your tired muscles and joints and help you seize the day.

Eat Well – Whenever you can, eat food that is as close to its natural, original form as possible. They provide the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that your body needs to function well. Processed foods are riddled with chemicals and will only make you feel sluggish. On the go? Try drinking a “salad” by blending certain fruits and vegetables to create a green smoothie.

Get Plenty of Protein – Banish hunger and stay full by snacking on high-protein treats. They will help stabilize your blood sugar and will help you from experiencing those dreaded midday crashes. Reach for healthy nuts like almonds, hazelnuts, and walnuts, unsweetened dried cranberries, seeds, and raisins.

Work Up a Sweat – Getting daily exercise has several good benefits to your body, and it’s particularly good for your skin as well. The skin will absorb and store toxins that make you look tired and ragged, but when you exercise, you can help release these toxins, making your skin look healthy and smooth. You’ll also feel great and have plenty of energy to tackle the day ahead! You don’t need to work out for a terribly long time – just work up a good sweat for a while, and that should be enough.

Don’t Sit for Too Long – These days sitting is the new smoking. The more you sit, the more your body will suffer. If you have a desk job, you can take steps to get yourself up more often. Take a break every hour to get up, stretch, and walk around the office or get a drink of water. Stand at your desk for a while, or if you take public transit, try to stand there as well. Park farther away so you’ll give yourself an excuse to move more.

Use a Daily Moisturizer – Picking out a good moisturizer can be tough. Select a daily moisturizer that will pamper your skin and give it that sheen and youthful look that you want.

Get Enough Sleep – It’s easy to put sleep on the backburner when you’re busy, but no matter what, getting plenty of sleep should be a top priority for your health (and for your skin!). If you’re having trouble getting yourself to bed on time, consider setting an alarm to tell you to go to bed early enough. After all, dedicating 7-8 hours to sleeping restfully will give you plenty of energy for the next day and will make getting out of bed much easier in the morning.
